Use of virtual reality (VR)-based interventions was associated with significantly reduced cravings among individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs), especially illicit drug use disorder, a new systematic review and meta-analysis showed. The most beneficial interventions were those that combined VR cue exposure with neutral environments, included more than seven sessions, and had each session last no longer than 60 minutes.
METHODOLOGY:
